As a Mom Entrepreneur, stress and anxiety always seem to be just around the corner. Understanding why these things appear as well as being able to combat them with these scriptures may help!
Living the day to day life can be exhausting for a mom (that may be an understatement). It’s not uncommon for a mom to feel burnt-out, tired, and stressed.
The reality is, life is full of ups and down, trials and seasons, times of trouble, and times of peace. In the midst of chaos and what may sometimes seem like confusion, God’s word offers us some peace!

The Cause of our Stress & Anxiety
In any situation, understanding why the problem is occurring is key in overcoming it. Stress and anxiety is no different. In the next few paragraphs, I am pointing my finger at three main causes of stress in our lives.
1. The need for control…
Humans have an innate desire to be in control. We want to control every aspect of our life and don’t like it when parts slip away from us. As mothers, so much of our day is planned around caring for the kids and home. Add a job to the mix, and you have a recipe for chaos.
As the laundry, the dishes, the house, the kids, the work obligations get overwhelming…things tend to slip. It’s bound to happen. Let’s face it, being a Mom Entrepreneur is some hard work!
The fact is this…
When we loose control of the things we once had our finger on, stress is a heartbeat away!
Here is the ticket….
Surrender to a God who wants to guide us through life. Pray each morning to God’s will that day, strive to walk in it, and don’t beat yourself up when you fall short of your expectations.
The use of a well though out to-do list also helps!
2. Overuse of media…
Never before has news traveled this fast…
Don’t think that news traveling at the speed of light doesn’t affect you. If you’re not phased by it, the people you deal with every day probably are. There is an atmosphere of stress in our would.
Sometimes knowledge isn’t wisdom. Let me explain… knowing that a problem has arisen without the ability to help doesn’t make you wise to the end goal. It would often be better not to have the unneeded stress of it. Make your end goal- peace!
I’m not saying not to know what’s going on in the world. What I am saying is that knowing everything is going to cause unneeded anxiety and worry. His word does tell us to “think on the good things.”
3. Lack of spiritual nutrition…
Plants, animals, and humans perish without nutrition. Lack of nutrition leads to disease, weakness, and eventually death.
We surround our day with meals that give us the nutrition we need to live healthy. Do you take your spiritual nutrition that seriously?
As Christians, mothers, and entrepreneurs, we cannot survive on one spiritual meal a week (Sunday morning). We must spend time with our Lord in prayer and reading his word. Anxiety and depression have no room in the presence of the living God!
Isaiah 26:3
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
John 13:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Philippians 4:6-7
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
